Can you imagine Canada hearing a Creed song for the first time and being all, “OH YEAH?!”

Bruce Peninsula - “Crabapples”
Yesterday afternoon I went to the MoMa to attend the American premiere of a Canadian film called Small Town Murder Songs, an “ecclesiastical musical” starring Peter Stormare about a small town police officer who is dealing with his first murder case as well as his violent past. The film isn’t an actual musical, but “chapters” are separated by beautifully photographed, slow motion interludes set to the booming music of a band called Bruce Peninsula.
This song, “Crabapples,” is used more than once. With good reason.

The first five minutes of Being Human are already better than an hour of Skins. And no one’s even said “dildo” yet.
