Ugh. ID4 was due on ID4 and since today is ID5 I owe an ID$2 late fee.
This isn’t an official NYC GIF Series entry, just something I had to make/post before midnight. Happy ID4.
Cool special effects, 1996.
You know that scene in
ID4 Independence Day when the ships are arriving and the shadows are creeping up on everything/everyone and they finally settle above all the cities and people are so terrified because they don’t know what to expect? That was the week leading up to Something Borrowed’s release.
You know that scene when the ships finally turn on their destructive green laser cannons (forever immortalized on the holographic VHS cover) and Harvey Fierstein is all, “Ugh” as he blows up? That was today - Something Borrowed’s release date.
Andie MacDowell - “Sittin’ By the Side of the Road”
Sometimes I confuse Michael and Phenomenon, then I remember that one is clearly amazing and the other is clearly the one I saw as part of a double feature with ID4 on its opening day.
While I’m on the subject, the acronym ‘ID4’ still makes no sense. Actually, it makes less sense now than it did in 1996.
