The stages of walking in a downpour.

Scores of people running around together, eventually slowing down and resuming their normal pace after realizing that they can’t possibly get more soaked than they already are, followed by spontaneous group laughter at all the surrounding wet shirts and pants and hair and, of course, umbrellas that have done nothing but slow us all down.
